Congregation Beth Hamedrash Hagadol Anshe Sfard (Boston, Mass.) Ledger
This collection contains a ledger from Congregation Beth Hamedrash Hagadol Anshe Sfard in Botson, Mass. The ledger, written in Hebrew and Yiddish manuscript, is from the Chevra Mishnayos (Mishna study group) of the congregation. It contains the constitution and by-laws as well as the names of the original members (both men and women) of the study group. Besides some of the names, there is either a date of death or an indication that the person died.
Congregation Kesser Israel (Springfield, Mass.) Constitution
This collection consists of a photocopy of the printed constitution, in Yiddish, of the congregation, stating its organization, the conditions of membership, duties of the officers, duties and privileges of the members, and the duties of the hevra kadisha.

Temple Beth El of Lynn and Swampscott (Mass.) Records
Temple Beth El was founded in Lynn in 1924. In 1946, members of the congregation split off to form Temple Israel, and in 1968, Temple Beth El expanded from its Lynn location to Swampscott. The two temples reunited in 2005 to become Congregation Shirat Hiyam. This collection contains documents related to many areas of synagogue life, including general membership, the music program, the Religious School, temple governance, and the Sisterhood.
Temple B’nai Jacob (Lexington, Mass.) Records
Temple B'nai Jacob was an Orthodox synagogue on Sylvia Street in Lexington, Massachusetts. Their first service was held on Passover in1916. Although this congregation is no longer operational, two synagogues in Lexington—Temple Emunah (Conservative) and Temple Isaiah (Reform)—have their roots in Temple B'nai Jacob. This collection contains one financial ledger in English and Yiddish.
The Sam (Simche) Katz Collection
This collection contains photographs and architectural drawings depicting 14 of the aron kodesh, or holy arks, created by early 20th century Russian woodworker Sam Katz. Also included are dedication programs, 3 snapshot portraits of Katz, and newspaper clippings relating to several congregations which feature Katz's holy arks.
Vilna Shul (Boston, Mass.) Records
The Vilna Shul is the last immigrant-era synagogue building in Boston and currently operates as a cultural center. This collection contains correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, proposals, photographs, notes, publications, financial records, legal documents, architectural plans, and audiovisual materials relating to the activities, internal proceedings, finances, early history, building renovations, and legal disputes of the Vilna Shul.
